Tinomuda Daphne Gora is a Postgraduate Researcher and holds a Masters of Arts in Governance and Regional Integration, with speciality in Regional Integration, from the Pan African University, Institute of Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences (PAUGHSS) – AU Commission, Cameroon. She also holds a BA Hons. in Anthropology from the Midlands States University, Zimbabwe. She is currently a Research and Policy Analyst. She is also currently enrolled at the Trade Policy Training in Africa (TRAPCA) in Arusha, Tanzania, pursuing MSc Pre-requisite Trade Policy and Trade Law. Daphne is also a Visiting Research and Policy Analyst at the Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
She recently graduated at the Instituto Tecnologico de Canarias (Canarias Islands Institute of Technology) with a Diploma in Digital Transformation under the scholarship of the Women for Africa Foundation (Learn Africa Canarias), Spain. Tinomuda is also the Co-Chairwoman of Carifika Global. She is the 2020 and 2021 National Award Winner of the Leadership Initiative Award, Cameroon. She is one of the 7 women selected from the 5 regions of Africa and an Alumni of the SheGoverns Trade Fellowship of the Tralac Trade Law Centre in South Africa in 2022.
She has experience within the public sector environment, with most of her work activities focused on regional public policy advisory services, policy formulation and implementation, especially on women empowerment and youth developmental issues, socio-economic developmental issues, good governance, peace and security, international relations, gender related issues and regional integration. She has worked and collaborated with regional and international organizations including UNESCO, International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), African Union ECOSOCC, East African Community (EAC) Secretariat, Office of the Deputy Secretary-General Political Federation, United People Global, Youth Alliance for Leadership Development in Africa (YALDA), YOLEAF Network and the West African Institute of Public Health. She is also an active advocate for the AU Agenda 2063 with special emphasis to peace and security, good governance and women empowerment.
Daphne has also experience with the drafting of AU actions plans, decisions and declarations which are given to member-states to help them on policy reform and implementation. The latest is the AU ECOSOCC Action Plan on the AU ECOSOCC-GIZ Eastern and Southern Regional CSO Sensitization Forum on the Free Movement Protocol – Maputo, Mozambique where she was one of the 9 people selected in the Commitee of Exeperts and drafting team. She has also contributed to decision-making on Africa’s development issues through conferences including being a delegate for the 2022 10th Tana High Level Forum on Security in Africa in Ethiopia, a delegate on the AU ECOSOCC-GIZ Eastern and Southern Regional CSO Sensitization Forum on the Free Movement Protocol- in Mozambique, delegate at the 6th African World Heritage Young Professionals Forum 2022 in Cameroon.
