Competences Required of Applicants:

  • At least 5years experience in Resource Mobilization including Grants/Proposal writing, partnership development abilities, ability to lead a team, possess public speaking qualities, ability to work independently or with limited supervision, be creative, innovative and able to work independently, ability to multi task and simultaneously manage multiple projects, ability to work under pressure and meeting up with deadlines, commitment and engagement to the mission and values of Bridgers, mastery of modern IT tools, must be Bilingual (English & French).

  1. Corporate Communication Officer (Volunteer – Hybrid Position)

Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for storytelling and driving social change? Are you fun of crafting compelling narratives and engaging/interactive content, can you act as a spokesperson for a nonprofit? If your answer is YES, then, this call is for you to apply and get the chance to volunteer and give back to our community at Bridgers Association in Cameroon.

Position: Communication Officer (VOLUNTEEER – Hybrid)

Location: Candidates can be located anywhere in the world for the post of Communication Officer.

Duration: Full-time or Part-time; Six months with renewal options.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • In collaboration with management, develop and implement communication plans to effectively convey the mission, goals, and impact of Bridgers to diverse audiences.
  • Creates interactive and compelling content for Bridgers’ social media channels, including (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, WhatsApp, etc).
  • Ensures that website contents remain relevant and up to date, monthly newsletters, and press releases, to engage stakeholders and followers.
  • Manage the organization’s social media presence / campaigns, including content creation, scheduling posts as well as monitoring and engaging with followers.
  • Build relations with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to ensure coverage and visibility of Bridgers and its initiatives. Granting interviews to media men and women when necessary.
  • Coordinate the production of multimedia materials such as videos, infographics, and reports, to enhance storytelling and the Organizations outreach.
  • Monitor and analyze communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns as well as make data-driven recommendations for the future.
  • May also be assigned to perform other tasks associated with the success of the organization.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in communication or public relations roles, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and platforms.
  • Strong visual communication skills and proficiency in graphic design and multimedia software/tools.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, analytics tools, and digital marketing best practices.
  • Be creative, innovative and able to work independently, ability to multi task and simultaneously manage multiple projects, ability to work under pressure and meeting up with deadlines.
  • Commitment and engagement to the mission and values of Bridgers.
