Teaching SDGs in Schools

Understanding the Sustainable Development Goals is one of our major concerns. We strongly believe that if these goals must be attained by 2030, then, they must be made known and understood by everyone, even the young minds. Bridgers Association Cameroon is engaging the youths by educating them on what these global goals are all about, and by so doing, committing them to take action at their various communities in varied ways.

We teach the Global Goals and link them up to the concept of Volunteerism. We encourage the youths to volunteer and take actions while building careers around any of the goals.

The 17 SDGs are:

Goal 1: No poverty: “End poverty in all its forms everywhere.”
Goal 2: Zero hunger: “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture.”
Goal 3: Good health and well-being for people: “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.”
Goal 4: Quality education: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”
Goal 5: Gender equality: “Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.”
Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation: “Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.”
Goal 7: Affordable and clean energy: “Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.”
Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth: “Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.”
Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: “Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.”
Goal 10: Reducing inequalities: “Reduce income inequality within and among countries.”
Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities: “Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.”
Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production: “Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.”
Goal 13: Climate action: “Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts by regulating emissions and promoting developments in renewable energy.”
Goal 14: Life below water: “Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.”
Goal 15: Life on land: “Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.”
Goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions: “Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.”
Goal 17: Partnerships for the goals

Bridgers’ Commitment  Seen Here!

We are delighted that you are reading from us in Cameroon and being introduced to the work we are doing in Bridgers Association Cameroon, we are a registered CSO working on the mission to empower women through advocacy in order to advance gender equality and push for the attainment of the Global Goals.

Among other projects, we have been teaching the SDGs to students in schools, raising their awareness on the inter connectivity and inter dependence of the 17 Goals. We stress on the need to educate more people on the Global Goals because if the Agenda 2030 on the Goals has to be attained then everyone needs to be aware and make a significant contribution towards the goals. We carried out the pilot phase in three secondary schools here in Yaounde Cameroon in April and May 2019 and reach out to over 2000 students directly and even more through the social media.

Bridgers Association Cameroon is by this soliciting partnership to carry our good initiative to the entire country of Cameroon beginning September 2019. Interested Partners are invited to join in at any point of our journey by writing us at:
